| I think she has worn that bib in every birthday picture so far |
Laurel enjoyed her birthday celebration last night. She opened her presents in the late afternoon when her dad came home from work, and for dinner we had take-out Italian food. And, of course, cupcakes.
Craig joked that the presents I bought Laurel were like those I had received from my parents as a child: from yard sales or thrift stores. That wasn't entirely true. I bought her this book new:
| "A Rule is to Break: A Child's Guide to Anarchy" |
But otherwise there was a grain of truth to his wisecrack. A pink leopard-print dog bed (she picked it out!) and modeling clay came from the drugstore, but a bunch of Lego, a set of doctor's tools and carrying case, and a small stool for the "exam room" came from Thrift Town.
So did the shirt she's wearing in this photo, for that matter.

And I'm sure she will enjoy her "gently used" presents as much as you did!

Hi! We wrote and illustrated The Child's Guide to Anarchy! We're so happy to see it in a child's hands! May we use this photo on our blog?
Thank you!
